How to Quit vi

Somewhere in 2019 I registered howtoquitvi.com. The whole site was one page: a title, a tagline that said “Yeah, it’s wierd,” one sentence admitting that even the most powerful editor out there can strand a novice at the simple task of leaving it, and three bullet points.

• Press ESC
• Press : (Cursor should go down to the bottom)
• Type wq (Write file to disk, and quit)

This was the first time I registered a domain just to host a single page to make a point. I didn’t have anything else pointing back to me. I wish I had the traffic reports because I have no idea how much it was viewed, but it was up for 7 years before I finally took it down.
